Working permits & Resident Visa (KITAS/IMTA) – US$. 550

For you intending to stay and work in Indonesia for 1 (one) year, and to be extended every year, then the appropriate visa for you is by using the type of limited staying visa (VITAS) valid for 12 (twelve) months. By using this type of visa, you will get limited stay permit card (KITAS) valid for 1 (one) year, to be provided by the immigration office. By having this KITAS card then you will get some facilities from the Indonesian government, among them:
  1. You are allowed to open an account in bank on your own name.
  2. You are allowed to buy and own a vehicle, etc. on your own name.
  3. You are allowed to have driver’s license (SIM) from the Indonesian police department.
  4. You are allowed to apply for visa to other countries in foreign embassies in Indonesia.
  5. For you who has used limited stay permit card (KITAS) for 6 (six) times consecutively, then you will get the facility to apply for permanent stay permit card (KITAP) valid for 5 (five) years, and it can be extended every 5 (five) years. And if you have had permanent stay permit card (KITAP) then you get the facility to apply for the application to get the status as Indonesian National (WNI).
  6. You are allowed to have personal tax payer registration number (NPWP) issued by taxation office.
For those using limited stay visa (VITAS) type and limited stay permit card (KITAS) intending to work and getting incomes from work activities, then you are obliged to pay tax of “Skill & Expertise Development Funds” (DPKK) in the amount of US$ 1,200 (one thousand two hundred) per year to be paid to the government through labor department. Further, if you have paid that tax, then you will get Work Permit Certification Letter (IMTA) from the government. After you get that Work Permit Certification Letter (IMTA) from the government then your stay and work permit can be extended for the following year.
The payment of that tax must be done after you get limited stay permit card (KITAS) from the immigration office.
As for family members tagging along with such as your wife or children, yet not working, then they are not obliged to pay that tax (DPKK) of US$ 1,200 (one thousand two hundred).

The requirements to apply for work visa are as follows:

A. Sponsor Company documents:
  1. Copy of Company’s Deed of Establishment from Notary.
  2. Copy of legislation for the company’s deed of establishment from the department of laws and human rights (pengesahan akta).
  3. Copy of Certification Letter on Company’s Domicile.
  4. Copy of Tax Payer Registration Number (NPWP).
  5. Copy of Business Permit Certificate (SIUP).
  6. Copy of Company’s Registration Certificate (TDP).
  7. Original of Application Letter from Sponsor Company.
  8. Copy of the director's identity card (KTP / KITAS)
  9. Copy of the Employee Contract (for companies employing foreigner)
  10. Original of company organizational structure.
  11. Original of Assignment Letter from the company for Indonesian worker to be the Assistant of the Expatriate.
  12. Copy of KTP (Indonesian National ID Card) for the Indonesian worker to be the Assistant of the Expatriate.
  13. Copy of the Report to the Labor Department Adapted by the Act or UU No.7/1981
  14. 20 company Letter Heads, signed by the company director, and sealed with the company stamp.
B.Foreign National Document as Visa Applicant
  1. Copy of the latest educational certificate.
  2. Copy of passport (whole pages) still valid minimum for 18 months.
  3. Passport sized photographs with red backgrounds (4x6=10 pcs, 3x4=10 pcs, 2x3=10 pcs)
  4. Curriculum Vitae and references
If you want to take your family with you, we need the following documents :
  1. Copy of the wife's and children's passport
  2. Copy of the marriage certificate
  3. Copy of the children's birth certificates
  4. Passport sized photographs with red backgrounds (4x6=10 pcs, 3x4=10 pcs, 2x3=10 pcs)
  5. Copy of the family register
Procedure:

When we have received your documents we will start to process. The above documents need to be sent to Jakarta for approval. If your application is approved you will receiving a "telex visa", this process can take up 30 days before a decision is made and the visa granted, when the "telex visa" is issued you can apply for the real visa at the Indonesian embassy or consulate overseas, nearest to you. You need to pay in local currencies for the visa application and the duration of the visa process in the country where you apply for the visa is depending on the embassy /consulate.

When you get your visa, you must return to Indonesia and then report to immigration maximum 7 days within the arrival date. We can do all this for you and guide you in processing. The process can take up within 30 days in immigration offices, when finished you will receive the following documents:
